Everything You Need to Know About Cat Care with Highworth Pet Care

  • How long are your visits and am I guaranteed that I will get the length of time I pay for?

    I offer 15 minute pop ins, and 30 minute visits if your pets need more time. I always set timers for visits so that your pets always get their full allocated time


  • How do you handle animals that are shy, nervous or easily stressed?

    (A) I aim to minimise stress, and for some pets, that will mean reduced handling in your absence. I let pets approach me first and am guided by their behaviour. This will be discussed with you when I meet you and your pets in person.

  • Do you have experience with small animals?

    Yes, I have experience with a wide variety of animals and understand their specific dietary, environmental and behavioural needs.

  • Do you cater for special needs?

    Absolutely, you just need to let me know what to do and I will follow your instructions carefully.

  • How do you handle emergencies?

    If your pet becomes unwell, I will call you immediately. If you are unavailable, I will call your emergency contact.

    If urgent care is required, I will take your pet to your designated Vet directly for assessment and treatment if required.


  • Can you recognise signs of illness in small animals?

    I have experience identifying common signs of illness such as changes in appetite, behaviour and droppings and will act promptly if concerns arise.

  • Do I need to provide food and cleaning supplies?

    Yes, owners provide all food, bedding, cleaning materials and any specific items your pet is used to. This helps maintain consistency and reduces stress.

  • How far in advance do I need to book?

    To avoid disappointment, please book at least a few months in advance. Whilst I will always try to accommodate last minute bookings, it may not always be possible during holiday periods.

  • Are there any animals you don’t offer services for?

    Yes, I don’t feel comfortable with snakes.
